Shipping and Delivery

• Local Delivery $15 – We hand deliver to locations within a 20km radius of Brisbane CBD Monday to Saturday. Deliveries are made within 2-3 business days of the order being placed. If you are outside of the delivery zone and wish to have your order hand delivered, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A surcharge may apply depending on the location.
• Same Day Delivery $18 – Available for locations within a 10km radius of Brisbane CBD. Orders must be received by 11am Monday to Friday or 10am Saturday to ensure same day delivery. Please note we do not deliver on public holidays or Sundays.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a specific delivery time and deliveries may be made anytime up until 7pm. If your order is time sensitive, e.g. for a special occasion, please contact us.

To assist with delivery, please ensure address and contact details are correct. We will call the phone number supplied if we have any issues with delivery. For non-residential locations, please ensure delivery of live plants is permitted and someone will available to accept delivery up until 7pm. The Green Philo will not be held accountable for any refusal of deliveries. Unsuccessful deliveries will be returned to our nursery and an additional fee may be charged for redelivery. 

All orders are delivered with authority to leave. If no one is at home when we deliver, your order will be left in a safe spot out of direct sunlight. You can add special delivery instructions at checkout if there is a specific location you would like the plant to be left.

If you have placed an order later in the week and wish to receive it before the weekend, please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate. A surcharge may apply on the delivery fee. 

Flat shipping charge $18 for orders up to 1kg. Orders from 1kg to 3kg will be charged $22. Certain items which are bulky or heavy will incur a higher shipping fee - this will be calculated at checkout.

We recommend selecting the Express Post option for plant orders to minimise the risk of potential transit delays.

All orders containing only Pots and Planters will be sent via Standard Parcel at $18 for up to 3kg, and dispatched Monday to Friday.  

Greeting cards will be sent via Regular Post free of charge.  

Plants are shipped with most of the soil removed to minimise shipping cost and transfer of pests and disease. Your plants will be packed carefully with enough potting media or sphagnum moss to keep them comfortable for their journey, and ensure they are secure in the packaging. Please note pot sizes in product descriptions refer to what the plants are currently growing in. Plants may be transferred to smaller pots for packaging purposes, and we may choose to send smaller plants in their pots to minimise root disturbance. The Green Philo is an environmentally conscious company, and where possible, recycled or recyclable packaging such as shredded newspaper or biodegradable packing peanuts will be utilised.

Despite our best efforts in packing, some plants are quite fragile and may suffer minor leaf damage or wilting during transit; however, they will generally recover quickly once settled into a pot and given some water with liquid seaweed solution. Certain plant varieties can be particularly sensitive to being shipped and may take longer to recover. By ordering from The Green Philo, the customer acknowledges and accepts this risk. The Green Philo cannot be held accountable for any damage to your plants during transit or delays in transport and do not offer any refund. If you have any issues when you receive your delivery, please contact us within 24 hours to discuss. 

The Green Philo will not be held liable for any damage to your plant due to a prolonged period of time in its packaging. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the plant is potted up promptly after its arrival to minimise any additional stress.

We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you have any issues with your delivery, please contact us straight away. All sales are final, and unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds or accept returns due to change of mind.

Plant information and care instructions provided by The Green Philo are intended as a guide only. Customers are strongly encouraged to research which plant varieties are suitable for their local climate prior to placing an order. The Green Philo is unable to provide refunds for plants that deteriorate due to unsuitable growing conditions or inability to acclimatise. If you have any questions regarding the care of your plant, please contact us for further advice.

If you have received an incorrect product due to an error on our part, or if the plant you have ordered is unavailable, you are entitled to a refund in full. Unfortunately, we do not offer returns or refunds on purchases due to change of mind.

The Green Philo will not take responsibility if incorrect contact and/or delivery details are supplied. If you need to change delivery details after an order has been placed, please contact us ASAP and we will do our best to change them before delivery. Once an order has been shipped, The Green Philo is unable to amend details of your order or provide a refund.

On the rare chance that your order is damaged in the delivery process, please email us at hello@thegreenphilo.com.au with photos within 24 hours upon delivery. Once we receive your email and photos we will be in contact to discuss the best resolution. Please allow for some leaf damage during transportation due to packaging or climate changes. Plants are living beings and minor imperfections are to be expected. We do not offer refunds for plants that appear different in colour or size from the product image as these are for reference only and individual plants may vary between batches.
